Sparklin' Fairy Dust

I met Emma in the summer of ’05 when we both interned for Rebecca Taylor in New York City. Right way, I could tell that she was a force to be reckoned with…a true visionary. She has what any great designer needs: A STRONG POINT OF VIEW. Her pieces are instantly recognizable…supercute...colorful...bright...happy…glittery. Emma does a fantastic job of fusing her inspirations.. whether it’s trailer park chic or mini Russian dolls or Japanese street fashion...she does it well and puts her signature spin on things.
It’s easy to be overwhelmed seeing her pieces for the first time…but once you break it down to individual items, there are key wearable pieces in her collection~~adorable bomber jackets..colorful classic oxford shirts. These are pieces that can be worn with jeans..or even ‘work’ pants. Pair one of the oxford shirts with a classic black tailored suit and you're good to go! She has shown at London Fashion Week and received maaad press to go along with it. Check http://www.emma-bell.com/

Robert Nesta Marley

Even today, his lyrics still need to be heard. He spoke the truth. He had an awesome personal style as well-lots of denim, bomber jackets, track pants...very eclectic. His backup singers (aka three little birds) also had a cool style..love the combinations of green, yellow, red, black..and the headwraps! so cool..the jersey fabrics were great too..very flowy~~

the video may be a little funny acting....but it's still great!

Technorati Clutch

I love this bag! I'm sure that I was listening to techno while designing it-hence the name, Technorati. It can be used as a cosmetic case, coin case, or a simple clutch. I did it in two colors: GRAY~~~The front is made up of layers of gray jersey fleece, olive green lambskin strips, and white cotton. The back is a black/white African print cotton. Gray zip closure across top. Interior is pink satin. PINK~~I created this fabric out of layers of pink linen, black lace, olive green lambskin strips, and white cotton. Black zip closure across top. Interior is purple satin. Simple shape but really cool textures. Interfaced to create great structure.

So excited for Handmade Market this Saturday!! woo hoo!!

Say what??!! Can I get a reeeeee-wiiiinnnd!! haha
..So excited for this Saturday's market to sell some super cute handbags.
This is such a cool place to have an event..nothing like shoppin' and sippin'.

Handmade Market is a unique event to connect the makers of beautiful things to people who appreciate the unique and handmade. The Empty Bottle starts serving at noon, so feel free to shop with mimosas in hand. (We do encourage relaxed shopping.) You can also grab brunch at the tasty Bite Café next door.

"With Every Heartbeat"

I love this song!! Robyn's an awesome artist. I remember her when she did the Show Me Love lp. Those were some hot songs, too...There aren't too many lyrics in this song but it's still great...the video has interesting concept as well. Robyn is a Grammy-nominated singer that is mostly known in her country of Sweden. This song has helped her gain more mainstream success worldwide.

DJ Million Dollar Mano

I love this guy's music! He does an awesome set. The first time that I heard him was at an M.I.A. concert. His style is very diverse...a bit of an 80s influence but not cheesy at all....the beats always mesh well. Very upbeat and easy to dance to. It's very hard to stand still at any of his sets. Check the links below for music samples and an interview he did with stopbeingfamous.com:

Who is K’naan?

I first heard this guy on a Damian Marley track. K’naan means “traveller” in Somali. Kanaan Warsame is a Somalian-Canadian poet/musician. He was born in Mogadishu in 1978 and spent most of his childhood in Wardiigleey (“The Lake of Blood”) during the Somali Civil War (which began in 1991). His homeland is referenced a lot in his lyrics and call for an end to the violence. He’s a great artist and speaks the truth in his own distinct way.
